The Quiet Chaos

The Quiet Chaos

March 20, 2026

There’s a quiet chaos going on in my mind. It’s probably happening to you as well. Are you having trouble thinking? Do you experience what some people call brain fog? Maybe there is a lot of noise going on in your mind. These problems are likely all one problem. It can disrupt your ability to make decisions and can destroy your ability to be creative and it can put an end to your critical thinking ability. Why is that a problem? If you don’t get it under control your output will come to a grinding halt. You will find yourself stuck. And being stuck is probably the biggest roadblock entrepreneurs face. What’s worse is they almost never know the cause because there can be many, many different causes. That’s one of the reasons coaches and communities are two of the most important tools you can have in your entrepreneur toolbox.

What Is It?

So what is the quiet chaos? It’s the activity that seems to be constantly going on in your mind. Our minds get so much input that the noise is continual and deafening. It continues even after you shut everything down. The next time the opportunity presents itself ask someone who grew up in the 70’s or 80’s (like me) what it was like to not have that noise. There were no cell phones, no Internet, and no streaming services. And prior to about 1978 there were no personal computers that the average person could afford to buy. Our minds were clear and quiet. Well, mostly.

The quiet chaos impedes creativity. And creativity is crucial to every entrepreneur and to your financial momentum. Even though you might think you are not creative everyone is to some extent, especially entrepreneurs.

A Solution

We need quiet time. We need to sit and think without seeing or doing. No screens or phones. Just you and your own mind. You and your spouse having a quiet conversation. When you get rid of the noise, when that chaos that only you can hear in your own mind starts to fade, ideas will come. Decisions will become easier. Logic will return. Thinking will become clear.

How do you do that? One simple thing. Sit in silence. Let the noise disappear. Relax. Think.

For me it means sitting outside on our patio and looking at the stars. We hear mostly the sounds of nature and each other. No electronic noise. Occasionally we get the sounds of other people or a passing car. But that’s ok. It’s not something that requires our attention. One full hour of sitting and thinking and having quiet conversations.

So tonight find your spot. In a quiet room or somewhere outside where you can hear the birds and crickets. Sit. Think.

See you next week.

Let me know if this helped you in any way. I would love to hear from you.

That's it for this time. See you next week!

Learning And Relearning To See May 1, 2026 Early in life we are taught to make a plan. Decide what you want to do and plan your career. But those lifelong plans rarely work out the way we initially intended. I went through several businesses with a “plan” for each one to be a huge success. Life has a funny way of changing plans. Today if you tried to make a 20 year plan it would be pointless, especially if it’s a business plan. What happened? Technology happened. And it is summed up by this...

Business Lessons From Birds April 24, 2026 Business Lessons From Birds Last year I gave my wife a bird feeder for her birthday(her request). Since then we’ve been watching many types of birds coming to our patio to eat. Ericka puts out fresh food in the morning and they stop in to eat throughout the day. Yesterday morning she was a little late coming downstairs. I called up to her and told her she had customers lining up for breakfast. The birds were sitting on the railing and on the feeder...

Letting Go April 17, 2026 Time For A Change? I read something in Russell Brunson’s YouTube community this morning that is a topic that has been on my mind for a while. Sometimes holding onto something can cause more damage than letting it go. As entrepreneurs we tend to add new things on but we don’t let go of anything. We hang on to businesses that clearly aren’t going to work because we think “I’ll just try this one thing more to see if that helps.” Maybe it’s something simple like that 4...
